New site!

Hi everyone.

This is what the new site looks like

Just a very short post today to let you know know that this blog has moved to my new website.
All future updates will be made there and this blog will no longer be updated. All the old posts are there as well.
The new site looks fantastic and should be getting even more content added fairly soon. mean while the blog is there as is me new online store where you can purchase prints for a very reasonable cost.

Weekend shooting

Have got a couple of events lined up to shoot this weekend, first up is back to The Path Tavern in Kirkcaldy tonight for their monthly rock club night. As before several local unsigned bands playing. On Sunday will be shooting a Mini Rugby game WDRFC v Lenzie, weather permitting as I don't have any gear to protect my kit from the lovely Scottish rain.

Hopefully have a variety of images for you by Monday but probably sooner.

Scotland 18 - 21 Ireland

I tried my first attempt at shooting sports on Sunday. Had tickets to Scotland V Ireland rugby match at Murayfield and just happened to be lucky enough to have a seat pretty near to pitch level and right behind the posts, so out came the 70-300.

Given that I was sitting in the stands as a paying punter and only have a cheap Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 lens for this sort of stuff I was reasonably happy with the results.

Stornoway

As I pointed out before I’m not a morning person so haven’t got any daylight pictures from Stornoway as yet.  I did however head out tonight to scout some potential shoot locations and snapped some shots of the War Memorial while I was out. Here’s a couple for your viewing pleasure.

Stornoway

Currently on the ferry about 20mins outside of Stornoway of the Isle of Lewis. Going to be out there all this week for work. Unfortunately won't have much shooting opportunity as start at 9am every day and finish after dark. I am hoping to maybe have 1 or 2 early morning shoots tho just need to scout out some locations near where I'm staying as I'm not much of an early riser especially when I have to work.

Kirkcaldy Light Trails

Went out this evening to capture some light trails in and around Kirkcaldy. Came away with a couple of interesting shots. Overall would have been nicer if it was a bit darker and the roads a bit busier. Guess this is something I should really have tried last month when it was pitch black at rush hour.

So got my membership to the local camera club organised now. Hopefully in the near future this should give me good access to a reasonably well equipped studio. They have several different backdrop multiple strobes and softboxes and some experienced photographers to show me the ropes.

More immediately of interest tonight at the club is the judging of there set subject competition on urban decay. I've already seen some of the images and the hand in and there were some impressive submissions. I know my face of what I've seen but looking forward to seeing the rest.
